I'm pretty sure he does, and it seems like all Microsoft is doing these days is throwing around the money they've made over all those years in the past, with Live Cashback being a supreme example. This is almost the tech equivalent of the Bofors scandal, but is too geeky for people to actually speculate anything.

"Apple is a small company" - really?! :-) Leaving everything aside, a company with stock prices of $170 cannot be called that.

I do love apple and at the same time I hate 'em that I cannot buy everything they make , cos, whatever they do, is class apart and trend setting even if not the best but also damn pricey, albeit for a reason. Apple didn't do anything new in iPhone other than what they always do best - usability and user interface. They have always made difficult things easy to use. Technically, I consider iPhone lagging behind many phones I've used in past and I can see many things which they didn't do or didn't do right but I love my iPhone totally. As I say always, they didn't do anything new, they just did whatever they did better than the rest.

I do agree though -- it will change how people think about mobiles... we've already started to see that with everyone jumping into touch phone bandwagon these days.

Well, I dont think its useless feature.

And one more thing, its might go down in history of Gmail due to fact that people may not use it, not just of its quality. Its a new idea and when I heard it, there was a feeling that its really something new as none other Mail providers have this option.

People would know its value only when they are in a situation as said in the blog itself, quoting from it:
I, for example, occasionally sign into my Gmail account from a friend's house when I need to check an important email. Usually I remember to sign out, but every once in a while I wonder if I really did. Now I no longer have to wonder.

Yes, its a blatant rip off. Just like Mercedes, BMW, Honda, Toyota, every other car manufacturer ripped off Ford. What a blatant rip off!

Jeff » Actually, NeXT invented the Dock. Jobs founded NeXT. Join the dots. And just because it does something differently, and doesn't do a few things doesn't make it "not a rip-off". Is "Instant Search" not a rip-off of "Spotlight" just because it's in the bottom-left and not top right? No. I'm all for taking ideas and building on it, but I also believe in crediting the source of that idea.

How is it a blentant rip off the prised OS X UI? From the videos, its main purpose is to be a categorical launcher, something the mac dock doesn't do, and it doesn't do the stuff the mac dock does like task managment or the swoopy zoom effect. Apple wasn't the first to come up with the concept of a dock, they just happened to make a very good one and popularize the concept

I have not used a single Microsoft product since I switched (well, until I really had to log in to Windows a month or so back), but even I have to deal with friends who do, which is why I still need to keep track of what's happening on that end.

This is not just about you giving up on Microsoft, but everybody else around you doing so too. Unfortunately, that will never happen.
